Before we left, we discovered our flight had been delayed by about an hour, so we had time for a quick, last walk through the neighborhood.
Side streets and alleys were clean, tidy, and often interesting to stroll through. A relatively affordable area in Jerusalem, there were clearly many young families living there.
What could possibly go wrong?
Early mornings are a busy time for vendors setting up their shops and stalls for the day. Here, a large slab of beef is being hauled across the street on a shopping cart.
A synagogue, one of dozens in the area.
Some of the doors were clearly intended for someone shorter than Hilary.
Countryside outside Jerusalem, on the way to Ben Gurion airport. We're taking a newly commissioned fast train, so new ,in fact that we were able to ride it for free. Traveling at up to 160 km/hour through tunnels through what is a pretty hilly area in Jerusalem, the entire trip took only 20 minutes.
Tel Aviv airport
Tel Aviv waiting area
And a pretty unique, "alternative" waiting area.
We are finally on our way.
A last glimpse of Tel Aviv. Hilary and I walked along the beach where the park can be seen in the distance during an evening walk on Day 7.
Sunset at 15,000 feet, as we were making our descent into Toronto.
